This time I'm off - for my first time - to Asia. Plane departs the morning of Friday, May 25th (just a few days after I graduate from college). Today, I completed all of my work, meaning final papers and exams and whatnot. I guess I'm "done," but not really except in terms of academic requirements I guess. Now I'm waiting for grades, helping with collecting donations of dorm items (nonperishable foods, small appliances, etc.) to go to local charities, saying my farewells, and enjoying Senior Week/Commencement Weekend. I have all of my tickets, so I just need to pick up cap and gown next week, pack/move, and go to events.
I have just about a work-week after commencement to finish last minute appointments, packing, and preparation at home before the trip to Asia. Most of my time away will be spent in Taiwan, with trips to Japan and Hong Kong/Macau. I have seen some pictures of the apartment we will spend a majority of the time living in, plus I've seen some pictures of other places in the area (picture sources being my Dad, the Internet, or someone I met in Poland who went to Taiwan recently and posted pics on Facebook). We return August 5th, with my moving to DC for grad school being a couple of weeks later. Tight turn-around on both sides of the trip. Just means being busy, but better than being lazy I guess. It'll all be interesting...
So I will try to keep track of what I see, do, taste, smell, visit, etc. while on my Summer Asian trip. I find sometimes typing it all out is easier on my hands than if I were to journal it all with pen and paper, but I may do both.
